The Umbrella Art Fair, one of Washington DC’s most important annual showcases for world-class local and national artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts, returns for its milestone fifth anniversary from Friday, November 21 through Sunday, November 23, at International Square (1850 K St. NW). Presented by USAN USAN, the fair will occupy more than 35,000 square feet of reimagined vacant space conveniently located near the White House, George Washington University, and downtown DC. Free, family-friendly, and open to the public, the fair will fill the venue with mixed-media contemporary artworks in an energetic, inclusive environment.
In its fifth year, Umbrella continues its artist-first, commission-free model, ensuring all sales revenue goes directly to participating artists. More than 100 artists will be featured, including Autumn Spears, Rose Jaffe, Alex Solis, Tracie Ching, Jessie and Katey, and Tom Kim (aka Death by Narwhals). Guest curators from leading arts organizations such as Cultural DC/Torrents, Hamiltonian Artists, the Nicholson Project, Laila Abdul-Hadi Jadallah/Art West Asia Projects, and Capitol Hill Boys Club will add depth and diversity to the presentations. The fair also includes special programming like a Creative Mornings lecture with co-founder Peter Chang (Nov. 21) and a Collector Coffee hosted with the Phillips Collection (Nov. 22) for both new and experienced collectors.
The fair’s dynamic mix of visual art, food, and community programming reflects its mission to transform underused urban spaces into thriving cultural destinations. Since its inception, the Umbrella Art Fair has become a vital force in DC’s creative ecosystem—having generated nearly $1 million in artist sales—and continues to bridge artists, audiences, and institutions in an accessible, celebratory setting.
Umbrella will take place on the 5th Floor of International Square and at the Square, 1850 K St. NW. The fair is easily accessible by Metro via the Farragut West and Farragut North Metro stations.
A VIP Preview is slated Nov. 20 from 6-10pm, followed by a public opening celebration Nov. 21 from 6-10pm. For a schedule of panels and additional events, and for more information, visit Umbrellaartfair.com and follow Umbrella on Instagram.
